|What Are The Measurements Between New Balance Shoe Sizes And Widths?|
|Width: There is approximately a 1/2" difference between widths (2A, B, D, 2E, 4E) and a 3/8" difference between 4E and 6E width. This difference occurs across the ball of the foot and is the maximum difference in width. There is less of a width difference as you move toward the tip of the shoe and toward the heel.|
|Length: There is approximately a 1/6" difference between each half size (i.e. between 9 and 9.5 and between 9.5 and 10, and so on). For every half size up, the width (across the ball) will increase by 1/8".|

|When ordering New Balance shoes, please order your normal athletic shoe size. If the majority of shoes you own fit adequately, consider ordering a standard men's width (D). If your shoes tend to feel overly spacious in width, consider a narrower width (B or 2A). If your shoes tend to feel noticeably narrow or snug, consider selecting a wider width (2E, 4E, or 6E).|
|Feet swell during the day, and we encourage you to try on your shoes later in the day when your feet are at their largest. New Balance shoes are made to fit directly out of the box and do not need to be broken in. Your heel should fit snug with no slipping. The midfoot of the shoe under your arch and over the top of your foot should be snug but not tight. You should have enough room in the toe box to wiggle your toes. If your feet are "between" sizes and you cannot decide which to suggest, choose the larger size. You can make adjustments for a better fit with socks, insoles, or a different lacing pattern.|
|Have your feet measured every year because people are more than twice as likely to buy a shoe that is too small than too big. Clues that your shoes are too small or narrow include noticeable foot cramping or "falling asleep" while running (or just after running) and the formation of blisters and calluses between or on your toes.|
|If your new shoes feel tight, remember that feet typically get bigger with age. Your left and right feet may differ in length or width by as much as a full size. Measure and try shoes on both feet, and always buy shoes to fit your larger foot.|
