Easton Youth Black Magic Catchers Gear Sets is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 68.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal kit for a new and developing catcher My son is 10, played four years and didn’t find his niche in a position. He expressed interest as a catcher so I bought him the Easton Black Magic kit since it was on sale, and if he didn’t like being a catcher I wouldn’t lose a ton of money if I purchased a more expensive kit. BEST INVESTMENT I MADE!! Great kit, super user friendly and he puts it on himself without any assistance because of the way it’s designed as opposed to other kits. He uses this kit for games and practices, and loves it! Took a rocket to the chest from one of our 10 year olds who skipped it off the dirt and didn’t feel a thing. I highly recommend this kit both as a practice and game kit. Very rugged and holds up well since July!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit 9/10 yr old Great catchers set for a 9 yr old or smaller 10 yr old. Bought for my son to use in Little League and travel ball.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great option for the $$ I bought this for my 7 year old. It still fits a bit big but he's gonna have time to grow with it. We had bought the 9 year old set and it was huge. I figured the 7 year old set would only fit him for the summer but it looks like we can get 2-3 more years out of it. We are gonna save the bigger set for middle school.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from another smaller then expected size Easton baseball pantsI recently purchased this Easton catcher's gear along with Easton batting gloves along with an Easton batting helmet along with baseball pants. as my previous reviews all stated, it seems all of this gear they are selling at a discount runs very small. my son is 11 turning 12 next year this was supposed to be a 10 to 12 size youth catchers gear, it's too small for him now and he is only in the 50% tile for his height. not sure where Easton makes their products however they're running very small these days! As to the quality of the product my son loves them however after this year I will be back trying to buy him another set of catchers gear because this will be too small for next year. Safety 1st for me means more than how pretty the product looks!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easton is beastin' As my boys have grown quite a bit since last year, it was time for a new set. This set is so good we just bought one sz bigger. Same equipment we like it so much. Just wish all catchers gear came with knee savers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit!! I purchased this set for my 9 year old the first part of May, the straps on the shin guards adjust easily, even with the added knee savers.

What sizes do we get for catchers set for 54 inch tall boy and his going to be 9 years old in a month.

Asked by: BaseballMom1588
Unfortunately, this is s closeout set. Normally, we would recommend the set for ages 9-12, however, that size has sold out.

I'm having a hard time determining sizing differences  between the 6-8 and 9 to 11.  Do you have specific measurements for the sizes? Sizing chart does not have information.   Looking at fitting a 4 foot, 70 pound child. Thanks.

Asked by: Npaden
The helmet size is the same for both 6-8 (Junior Youth) and 9-11 (Youth) - it is a Small helmet that fits hat sizes from 6 1/8" to 7". The lengths of the chest protector and leg guards for Junior Youth set are both 12", while those measurements for the Youth set are 13". The proper way to measure for a chest protector is from the sternum (base of the neck) to the top of the waist, and for leg guards, measure from the middle of the knee to the bottom of the ankle bone where it intersects with the shin.

My son is 55 inches tall. What size gear would he wear?

Asked by: JenniferS
I would not be able to say off that measurement alone. Please refer to the size chart listed under the "specs/sizing" tab on this item page.

On the Easton Youth Black Magic catchers gear set for 9-12 yrs. Do you have the option of choosing which chest protector and leg guards to get with the set? I see you have Mako,M7, M5 and others, so that makes me think you choose which pads you want.

Asked by: labsr4me
Unfortunately we don't have the option to break up this set and pick which items you would get.

What is the difference between youth 6-8 and 9-12? Is it just that the chest protector is bigger?

Asked by: MR T
Both the chest protector and the leg guards would be bigger on the set for ages 9-12
