Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent catcher's set I bought the renegade catcher's about a month ago, the set is very well constructed and it looks great. My 11 yr. Old son loved it. Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong size, but, nonetheless, baseball's customer service was superb!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great set of beginning catcher's gear for 10U This is a perfect beginner's set of gear. It is easy to put on and take off, which is key to keep the innings moving. I was skeptical about the velcro sides as I prefer a clip/hole type system. The set of gear looks nice too, and does it's intended job. Some of the other reviews I found online were accurate...chest fits good, helmet a little big, shins may run big/long. That's not a baseballsavings issue, that would be for Rawlings to consider/adjust. There are about 4/10 10U players on our team that would fit into this gear, yet it states ages 12-15. With all of this being said, I think Rawlings should take a look at their age level descriptions. Kids come in many shapes and sizes, so a bigger kid may not have longer legs, or a bigger head. You just can't go wrong with Rawlings, though-there's a reason they have been around forever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice equipment We bought this for my son who is transitioning from youth to intermediate sizing. The chest protector will take longer for him to grow into but this is a nice set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice Set Got this as a 2nd set for my 12U team. Every peice of the set is a step up from the brand new set we bought last year. The velcro on the chest protector instead of a clip, the foot loops on the shin guards...the little things set this one apart. Helmet is cool too. Good stuff Rawlings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this for my 11u, but my 14u love it to. It was the best protection for my boys.

My son is 12 and is going to be 13 in May. He is 5’5 145 lbs. Will this set fit him and if so, how much room would be left to grow in to.

Asked by: BallDad
Depending on his measurements for most 12-13 year olds this set should fit and should have some room left to grow. We would recommend measuring for best fit. The sizes of each piece are located in the description. Helmet Fitting Instructions: Use a soft tape measure to measure around the widest part of your head (right above the ears), keeping the tape level from front to back. Chest Protector Fitting Instructions: For proper fit, measure from the base of the neck (where throat and collar bone intersect) to the top of the waistline. Match this measurement with a chest protector length. If you measure between lengths, we recommend selecting the longer length. Leg Guard Fitting Instructions: For proper fit, measure from the middle of the knee to the top of ankle bone (the bend of the ankle). Match this measurement with a leg guard length. If you measure between lengths, we recommend you select the longer length.

Is the renegade set made for high school players ?

Asked by: kevin 4
This specific set is made for ages 12-15. For a High School Player I would recommend the adult version which is available on our web site. You will get more years out of it, because the player will be less prone to outgrow it compared to the intermediate set.
